The real question is why not Costa Rica?
Costa Rica is internationally renowned among ecologists for its biodiversity where visitors can expect to see an abundance of wildlife.
• In the Corcovado National Park for example, you can find all four Costa Rican monkey species. These include the White-headed Capuchin, the Mantled Howler, the Central American Squirrel Monkey and the endangered Geoffroy’s Spider Monkey. Their lives revolve around the health and future of the Costa Rica Rainforests.
• The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is home to an estimated 2,000 plant species, including numerous orchids. Over 800 species of birds have been identified in Costa Rica along with many rare and threatened species of frogs.
• The literacy rate in Costa Rica is 97% and public education is guaranteed in the constitution. Costa Rica ranks #1 in the Happy Planet Index, #5 in the Environmental Performance and #1 in Latin America for Travel and Tourism Competitiveness.
• Active volcanoes, world-class surfing, top notch deep-sea fishing, eco-tourism, luxury resorts and rainforest zip lining are all top attractions in Costa Rica. But the most important resource Costa Rica has to offer is its warm, compassionate and caring people.
• Costa Rica has set 2021 as the date to become the world's 1st carbon neutral country. Preserving and protecting Costa Rica's rainforests are at the core of this ambitious goal.
